We had a few friends over for a pre-surgical dinner party for our friend Michele on Sunday. She enjoys my homemade lasagna, so I created an italian themed dinner around it in her honor. I got a lot of the prep work done that morning, so it was nice to be able to spend more time with our friends rather than running around the kitchen. It was nice to have Michele and her mom over, along with Megan, Paula, Kathryn and Ryan. I need to get a monthly dinner night going. I love cooking and entertaining for folks. And yes, I forgot to snap a picture of the lasagna. It's based on a recipe from Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa. It has four types of cheese layered in it: fresh mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta, and goat cheese.
