the dark side of things

At around 2:25 this morning, the electricity in our neighborhood went out. And along with it the hum and comfort of our air conditioning. Anyone who knows us, also knows that we keep the homestead pretty chilly. Needless to say, it was a pretty restless night for both of us. There were no storms in the area, we just lost power. Greg called the electric company and they said things should be fixed around 6 am. Perfect, that's when we usually get up during the work week. Well 6 o'clock rolled around and still no power. Showered by candle and flash light. We couldn't iron our clothes for work. Greg used that wrinkle releaser spray on his trousers. I remembered that we had an iron and ironing board in my department at work. So I left for work a little early this morning and just finished pressing my pants. This day is sure off to a good start.
