wired, i think not

As of a few minutes ago, we now have wireless internet access at home. What does that mean to us? Blazing iPhone web surfing. Also, this marks the end of our Road Runner internet service and email accounts. So don't email Greg or I with our old addresses ending in .neo.rr.com. If you need our new addresses click on my profile in the left column, a new screen with an "email" option will pop up. Send me a message and I will get you our new email addresses.

a sneak peek

I'm working on a new redesign for gzpzguy.com. Hoping to have it ready in early March. Here's a quick peek at the "about me" page. Click on the photo for a closer look.

Why isn't this man running for President?

a melty lunch with more apple

I had a busy day off. My friend Nick came over and we traveled up to Legacy Village. I wanted to pick up iLife 08 for our mac. You can use it to make custom ringtones for the iPhone. We also did a little window shopping at Crate & Barrell and Restoration Hardware. After shopping we headed to Lakewood to meet Greg for lunch. We ate at Melt, a grilled cheese sandwich restaurant. The sandwiches were amazing. It was great to meet Greg during his long day at work.

proud fathers

Greg and I brought our new twins home Saturday. They were all bundled up for the short trip home. We have to watch out for the soft spot on them. But, honestly, there's nothing like the way they light up whenever we around. That's right, we got our iPhones this weekend. Like I mentioned in an earlier post. We don't have children, we have electronics. The new arrivals are the reason for the lull in blog postings. I've been too busy marveling at this incredible creation sent to the masses from Mr. Jobs.

i've been assaulted

So I had to stop by West Point Market (Akron's poshest grocery store) for work today. I was in the store about fifteen minutes. When I came out I found a note under my wiper blade. Curious. Maybe someone I knew saw my car and left a message. Nope. It was a note from a complete stranger who evidently felt strongly about my sporting a "Hillary for President" bumper sticker. Dang, if I put a note on every car that had a "W" sticker I'd run out of paper. Here's the note below.

separation of church and state?

Salon.com reports that, speaking in Michigan Monday night, republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told supporters that he favored Constitutional amendments banning abortions and gay marriage because, "it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God."

He added, "What we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than trying to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view of how we treat each other and how we treat the family."

And I thought that Bush was bad...

and speaking of apple

Big announcement from Apple tomorrow. I hope it's a new improved iPhone, since I get mine in 14 days. It's not like I'm counting or anything...

1 - 2 - 3 - 4

I love Apple products, for the most part. But this is pretty funny.

pay checks and cheerios

Greg starts his new job in Lakewood on Monday. We're very excited by this new opportunity. And evidently, there's a cereal restaurant across the street from his building.

emotions

Either we finally see the real Hillary, or she's working towards an Oscar. I like to think it's the former.

tucker's big day

Tucker spent the day at the vet today. They put him under and cleared out an infection in his ear canal, gave him his shots and cleaned his teeth. They look really good now. But as a result of being under, he's having trouble walking and according to Greg, it seemed like Tucker has been using Alli, if you know what I'm getting at. Here's hoping for a better day for him tomorrow.

before it was gone

Dad sent up another box of photos including the proofs of my high school senior pictures. See I did have a full head of hair at one time. Click here for the full set.

photo album work

I received a package in the mail today from my dad. He sent up three photo albums of photos from my childhood. I'm going to start scanning them into the computer so that my sister and I can have them in a digital format for years to come. This picture was on the last page of one of the albums. As a kid, I know I went through these albums a lot, but for the life of me, I don't remember ever seeing this photo of my mom and me. I like it quite a bit.

around the hood

Ah yes, I spotted this classy lawn ornamentation down the street from our place. I really enjoy how the gnome is almost hiding behind Jesus. Click the pic for a closer look.

beeritas, pizza and friends

We had some friends over for a slightly belated birthday get together tonight. Had a fun time shooting the breeze with Greg, Tom, Brett, Megan, Phil, Penny and Michele. It was good to kick back, relax and laugh...a lot. We watched a very special holiday video. A video that I plan to organize a yearly holiday party around. Probably the afternoon of the the Sunday before Christmas. Let there be peace on earth... Oh yeah, that picture up there. Those are my new kicks from Megan. They are Jack Purcell shoes by Converse. They are super comfy and I love the "smile" on the front of them. Jack was a professional badminton player from Canada who designed a canvas and rubber badminton shoe for the B.F. Goodrich Company of Canada in 1935. He was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1973 despite having never played in the Olympic Games. At the time of his induction badminton was still not an Olympic sport. In 1955, he was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. Converse has several other Purcell vintage designs that I'm also quite keen on.

my favorite photos from 2007

do you live in Iowa?

Well, if you do, please take a moment to listen to this message and then go caucus for Hillary on Thursday. When listening to her message it gives me hope that someday we can have a truly compassionate and eloquent president.

a happy new year

New Year's Eve was a busy day for me. I worked from 9 in the morning till 11:30 at night. The Library was host to four First Night stages that evening. Earlier in the day I was interviewed by Channel 3 News about our events. It ran on the 6 o'clock news. Unfortunately they haven't uploaded it to their web site. If you want to see it, you'll have to stop by our house to see it. Greg recorded it on the DVR. In other Greg news, Greg was kind enough to help us at First Night and worked the first shift as a button checker/people counter at our parking garage entrance to the library. I also roped our neighbors Les and Marilyn to watch the other two doors on our High Street Level. They are good people.
After a quick champagne toast at midnight it was sleepy time for me. I slept in until nearly 11 o'clock this morning. That's really late for me. Wednesday I need to go in to work for about an hour to wrap up some First Night stuff, then I'm off the rest of the week.
Oh and here's another Greg update. He was offered a job last week...in Lakewood...
