a better than fair day

Had a wonderful time at the Wayne County Fair on Monday. Greg was able to join us, that's one benefit of the mess he's dealing with at work. He got to go back to work yesterday. Hopefully everything will be back to normal for him at work soon.
Those are my nieces Macy and Rebecca riding one of the many rides at the fair. Besides watching the girls have fun on the rides and seeing the animals, we ate....and we ate. Here's a quick list of some of the fair food delights...fried cheese on a stick (both baby swiss and mozzarella), the walking taco, and of course my favorite from last year...the deep fried twinkie. It wasn't as good this year, but it was still pretty darn tasty.
We also toured the local schools art exhibits. Rebecca won a first prize ribbon for her artwork of a bird. I've including the photo below. And oh yeah, I saw horses do things that I can't ever talk about. I was certainly not born to be a country boy...not by a long shot. Huge thanks to my sister Julie and her husband Matt for having us down again for a fair visit. It's now one of my favorite days of the year to look forward to.
